Paris Open Air Markets

The different neighborhoods of Paris, like the villages in the provinces, have open air markets that provide wonderful selections of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheese and breads. For items to bring home, there are often vendors selling scarves, clothing and sometimes table linens. Listed below are the larger open air markets in Paris, but there are other smaller ones that you may happen upon and be charmed by. For the most part if you arrive between 8am and 1pm you will find them open and in full swing. Officially, during the weekdays the markets open from 7am to 2:30pm and weekends from 7am to 3pm. While staying in the heart of Paris, a few you may want to visit are Marché Bastille near the Bastille Opera with a huge variety of products, Marché Raspail on Sunday for it’s organic market, Marché Saxe-Breteuil near the Tour Eiffel on the left bank or on the other side of the river and also in view of the Eiffel Tower is Marché President Wilson.
